Berlin-based Synaptic Cliffs, known for its collaborations with leading contemporary visual artists and visionary electronic musicians, presents an exceptional new collector’s vinyl edition of "Sermons of the Electrofying Messiah" by pdqb - a critically acclaimed work of uncompromising electronic music.
Turner Prize nominee Jake Chapman has individually hand-altered 50 record sleeves through painting, collage, or a combination of both. Each piece is individually treated, each copy is a unique, original artwork. A further 30 Hors Commerce copies exist outside the commercial edition and are not intended for public sale.
Over the years, Synaptic Cliffs has collaborated with internationally acclaimed visual artists including Maurizio Cattelan, Huma Bhabha, Adam Pendleton and Erwin Wurm, alongside celebrated musical innovators such as Alva Noto, Roman Flügel, The Egyptian Lover and Dopplereffekt — who contribute two remixes to the present edition.
The edition begins at the human starting price of €600.66 As the numbers diminish, the value ascends. When only a few remain, rarity sets the price. And when the last copy is gone, nothing remains but those who acted in time.
A rare convergence of contemporary art, underground music culture and collectible object.
Of course, the edition comes with a digital download code, so you don’t have to scratch up the vinyl. But we still recommend giving the wax a spin once in a while.
Last but definitely not least: 20% of the proceeds will be donated to Gaza Soup Kitchen, an organization providing hot meals and emergency food support to displaced and vulnerable people in Gaza.
